The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has awarded Ambition 24hours top score of three stars for service excellence in its assessment of service quality by the UK nursing agency. The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. Its aim is to assess the care provided in hospitals, care homes and elsewhere.
" Ambition 24hours continues its major investment programme in 2010 in the compliance staff and systems that will ensure the highest levels of safety and care in the recruitment and management of our nurses and care assistants for temporary placement with healthcare providers," says Penny Streeter, founder and managing director.
" Our goal is to ensure that all credentials of the temporary medical staff we recruit are rigorously examined and checked. We find and train specialist compliance staff on an on-going basis, and have developed our own £1 million ICT system and web portal to manage compliance and build in automated safeguards. It is a unique system, ensuring the highest standards of compliance in the industry."
The CQC assessment of Ambition 24hours stated: “Of particular note are recruitment and selection procedures which are comprehensive and rigorous. Extensive pre-employment checks are undertaken of candidates skills and training, their general health and suitability to work with vulnerable adults and children. This process takes around 3 months to complete and workers are reminded when they need to be updated and repeated.
" The agency tells us that they do not send nurses out unless they are confident of their competence to manage the assignment. Clients are contacted frequently to ensure their satisfaction with the service and the manager attends all strategy or concern meetings. Feedback forms are completed after every assignment by both the clients and the worker and we have seen a selection of these."
